The Winter Scenes at Metea Valley High School were started as a way for students to experience firsthand the challenges and rewards of directing and producing small scenes or one-act plays, as well as the skill of producing a show in an intimate setting, all while working with small groups of like-minded and driven individuals.
This year's Winter Scenes:
Funtown (written by Laura Neill and directed by Jensen Trinko) - Five young outcasts live together in an abandoned fun park. It may not be much, but it's home—until a pair of contractors show up: Funtown has been marked for imminent demolition.
In the Forests of the Night (written by Del Martin and directed by Aayla Edwards) - Thirteen students are compelled by their dreams to play a game in the woods to keep a mysterious monster at bay. Not everyone gets to play it again.
Tracks (written by Peter Tarsi and directed by Loren Jones and AJ Warthen) - A group of strangers meet in a dirty subway station. They have arrived with limited personal belongings, their watches have stopped and they all claim to be in different cities. Soon they learn there is no way out of the station, and the unfortunate truth is told to them: they are all dead. Where is their final destination?
