Put on a happy face! Metea Valley High School Theater is thrilled to announce its upcoming production of the classic Tony Award-winning musical, Bye Bye Birdie.
Set in 1958, Bye Bye Birdie is a loving send-up of the era, small-town America, and rock-and-roll fandom. The story follows rock star Conrad Birdie, who has been drafted into the army. As a final publicity stunt before he leaves, his agent, Albert Peterson, and Albert's secretary, Rosie Alvarez, arrange for Birdie to give "One Last Kiss" to a randomly chosen fan on The Ed Sullivan Show. That lucky fan is Kim MacAfee of Sweet Apple, Ohio—and the arrival of the superstar sends the quiet town into a frenzy.
BYE BYE BIRDIE is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Tams-Witmark LLC.
